Again I did one of EelKats questionaires and this was the result for the Punk 🙂
The Punk has a sort of physical frame which is a sort of slight stocky depending how much muscle tone she has built onto it. After times of hardship she can look very thin and fragile, elfling type – this can take decades to loose. When she has enough food/good nutrition (which are not the same) she starts to look abit like Ace out of Dr Who.
She has full lips and can be femanine but can present herself as a juvinile boy also. Hi cheek bones, slightly strong jaw which becomes more pronounced when fed well. Her skin tone completely depends on where she is as she produces melonine on demand. The colour of her eyes can change too depending on environment. Same goes for hair though it does tend to lurk around the dark brown area bleaching to blonde in the sun and a red if bleached on perpose.
If she is in a dark cold environment for any length of time her hair will darken these changing traits do however take years to occure.
Height wise she has spent alot of history being quiet tall for a woman and even sometimes tall for a man but in modern times she is the shorter side of average.
She is the sort of person with a cheeky grin and a vague cupidness about her facial features. Obviously in the future her hair is vivid Magenta and spends most of it’s time in a Mawhawk.
The Punk has obviously has to spend a lot of time blending in but when there have been pockets of alternative personalities that has been were to find her ie the Betniks, bohemians, hippys, rockers, punks, new age romantics, goths, emos…
The punk moves quiet confidently – this has always lead to problems with pretending to be a prisoner or slave for a subtifuge.
Age wise she could be anything from a teenager to a 30 year old and has found that alot of it is peoples preceptions on who you act and dress
Through the years she has has tattoos and piercings but that have always grown out eventually just like the scars and injuries from accidents.

This was actually a TV serial so had the slight roughness I associate with the cinamotography compared to film-film. It had the odd effect of making me associate King Henry with my Grandfather who was to be quiet frank you classic East End type and a boxer to boot (plus he had the whole multiple partner thing going on and couldn’t understand why his wife/my grandmother could possibly object). To be quiet honest I hated this Henry as he became more erratic the older he got. I think however this is probably a closer depiction of the man than a lot of the others.
Of course the was Helena Bonham Carter as Boleyn.
Mainly I wanted to pour acid down the mans throat at the end of it all reguardless of the fact he seemed to be regretting it all! Sean Bean got killed rather grusomly too! Showing the King to be a two face laying son of a female dog.
It hasn’t really given me much more information of the Tudor period but it gave me a dangerous gritty feel to court which is the sort of thing I think will sit well with the Punks story!

During the summer I finally got a key to a little summer house thing at the top of the paddock – it belongs to my Father-in-law when he lived here but it was in no fit state to use. So during the summer and autumn me and dad have been renovating it – it was/is in a bit of a state.
The felting on the roof had gone, the floor is rotting away – it is standing on uneven dirt so the door doesn’t open without having to do a little ritual! We had to dig out a load of grass and soil to get to the door (we’ve put some paving slabs there much to Aunt-in-laws horror). We pulled the weeds out that had been growing through the walls and through the floor and then there was winter.
It has lost a pane of glass during the winter and the floor is still rotten but they should be fixable with abit of time and abit of money (we found some felt for the roof in the stable under a load of junk!) I need to save up for a new pane and some putty – the floor is going to have to wait I have old carpet which can be used to cover the floor for now (yes I know this will increase the rate of rotting but its not for ever and the entire floor will need replacing anyway!).
The moldy old deck chair is going and the small garden table and chair I use to write poetry on in the mornings is going up there – I will just have to do something else for poetry! I’m hoping it’s far enough from the house and out of the elements enough – I can just about fit a small camping heater in with me and take a thermos up there!
Of course this is all still in the future due to the fact it still keeps snowing here and there is no way I am going up there in the snow! I think I will sort of have to sneak off up there of a morning without anyone seeing me however other wise they might just come and pester me there :/

This was one the same disc as Elizabeth R – The Lion’s Cub and continues the story with Elizabeth being proposed to by various Kings and Dudley’s place in court. It had it that the Queen had attended Dudley’s wedding and that his wife was slowly dying of breast cancer and apparently commited suicide but this lay suspiscion of foul play on Dudley who would then have been free to marry the Queen.
This deviates from the other films I have seen so I will have to wait to see what else the history books through up about this – the same as it had them arrange to have a secret wedding but though they met up they did not go through with it.
Being the main love interest I need to look into Dudley alot!

Writing space can be a big issue for me and I suppose for many others too. My main issue is that I tend to be working from home and have family presenting me with a hundred and one more ‘important’ things to do. This is exasperated by the fact that though my husband supports me he is very busy earning the main money that keeps the roof over our head whilst I am the food (and not always :/) and the treats therefore my stuff by necessity gets put on the side.
Never the less this isn’t the main problem – the main problem is certain older relatives thinkng that writing and art are stupid things and that a proper job is needed. There is therefore a constant stream of interuptions and even acts of what quiet frankly should count as vandalism resulting in destroyed illustrations I have worked hours on!
I have therefore had to create a sort of mental writing space. I have pretended not to be in hidden away in my bedroom and I have hidden in the woods near our house at six in the morning with a note book and camera (the camera is because the deer go there to drink but they seem to only do this if I’ve forgotten the camera!) but this is only tenable for me in summer due to my joint pain being so bad.
Another problem I have found with working at home is that I can maintain the mental writing space against other people intruding but I can not seem to erect a defence against myself – by this I mean if I am at home I can feel the washing pulling at me, the tax returns and the gardening :/
My little girl has just started school so I have sort of formed a block against the house work in that whilst she is at school the time I have is primarilly for writing or art but this leaves me open to the rest of the families bidding.
One solution I have is going out for the day – I will go out in the morning and come back in the afternoon or evening and spend the whole day wondering from one end of Town to the other sitting in coffee shops or parks depending on weather and writing. This works amazingly well but due to back issues I a) tend not to be able to take my laptop with me so everything is writing in long hand which then needs typing up b) it costs money – I have to get to town in the first place when I live in the sticks and then I have to by drinks and things – the library is of course free but isn’t always open and sometimes the vibe just isn’t right – I have to be able to watch people to get the next bit of story etc… and c) my health is so flakey that occassionally I am so tired by the time I get to town I can’t do anything and have to come straight home again to sleep :/ And if I do have a productive day I may have to pay for it the next.
So basically I have decided I need a proper writing space here at home – I have an embryonic plan which I’ll be sharing shortly!

This had the feel of a TV film with muted colours and long periods of silence whilst a small cast rattled around the set. The outfits were stunning however!
I had already read abit about the fact that Elizabeth had been assulted by her step Father (Jane Symores brother and husband to Cathreen Par) but this was the premiss of the whole film pretty much – starting with Symores attempt to kidnapped the sick and ailing boy king he believed he was rescuing.
He ends up loosing his head whilst due to being pre-warned Elizabeth kept hers. There were flash backs to the ‘affair’ with the older man and even the icident where her step mother held her still whilst he cut her dress off. This perfect material for my novel – it fits right in – they may have been arguing over the Punks sex etc…
The second bit of the film involves Mary coming to the thrown and Elizabeth’s time in the Tower and how the Spanish King who proposed to her was indeed Mary’s husband! Again this just fleshes out Tudor England for me abit more which will make the writing so much easier! There were lots of plots in Elizabeths name and the way she kept alive is probably worth a novel in itself!

Having watched the whole of the first disc of MCofG and all the documentaries with it I have hit upon a very useful piece of information. I need location for my three ocean empires of the Aquatic Apes (for those who don’t remember these are a homonid race that pre-dates and infact created humans – they destroyed themselves in a civil war over genetic purity).
As it turns out there is another ocean civilization myth like Atlantis and this is the Empire of Heva – a polonesian myths of a continent in the Pacific. This is so unbelieviably perfect 🙂
Now all I need to do is add it to the list of things to read up on!

The Punk has a pale pink irridescant still suit which looks like a well fitted catsuit or all in-one. It has ribbing in places and areas for tool attachments etc… It is named after the suits used by the Freman in the Dune books and is basically an environment suit that allows conservation or ejection of body heat and fluids. Fluids and heat can be stored – fluids including urine can be cleansed and drunk by the wearer if they find themself in a situation where this is needed.
Heat is generally used to recharge the various bits of the suit if excess to requirements by the wearer. If not then it is conserved and used to keep them warm. Movement of the body itself charges things up in the suit. The suit also includes a fitted hood which the Punk tends to have removed and languishing in one of her many pouches. She also tends to where large plantform type knee high boots covered in glitter instead of the the wet-shoe type attachment that comes with the suit.
The suit looks stunning especially in the club environment and she feels alot more secure when wearing it having had to run for her life so many times and found herself in many and neferious situations.
In the Punks world (our future history) Dune is considered a classic and almost revered as a holy book – there is even a cult which has had at least one skism.

How long it would take me too write the Punk series? How long for the first half and how long for one book?
These are the sort of things I find myself working out at night instead of sleeping :/
The thing is if I could actually write 2000 words a day it wouldn’t be too bad for one novel but it becomes daunting when I think of the whole series. Each novel is 250, 000 words which at the NaNoWriMo level of out put is 125 days before editing. That would be 4-5 months a book but I can’t currently churn them out like that nor can I do my 10 k a day which I have done in the past on various projects mainly because life or my health keeps getting in the way 🙁
At the moment I’m not really writing much at all just trying to get through all the research before I get to the next NaNo and find I can’t move forward for lack of knowledge – this was something that was starting to slow me down at the end of NaNo last year :/
But this does make me worry that I will only be able to really concentrate on the writing during things like NaNoWriMo :/ in that case it would take me what 5 yrs for each novel – at that rate I would run out of life for completing the series :/ Of course this is pointless calculations and is really just a procrastination. The length of the book has already changed – in the upward direction :/ and the number of books will probably change (they already have in a down ward direction) and so on and so forth. But I think I still need to be getting my writing levels back up again!

As a child there was a TV anime series that I was obsessed with (ok well there were a couple but this was one of the main ones!) it was called The Mysterious Cities of Gold or for brevities sake MCofG.
The animation is a style I like sort of somehow European with just a hint of manga 🙂
And the story line? Well it had me spell bound, involving two ancient civalizations that wiped each other out using nuclear weapons basically. It is a major source of things I have put in the mix for the Punk – the whole idea of ocean empires and old tech hidden in achaeology etc…
I have decided to go through the series with a fine tooth comb as it were and mine it properlly for plot details I can nick 🙂 One of the cool things is that I know have it on DVD all 6 discs of it and there are documentaries with it that weren’t shown on TV when I was a kid!
I’m going to work my way through these and consolidate some ideas 🙂
